Sierra (His Handmaiden)~ I'm fourteen years old, a lover of books! Some people spend all their time on one thing, such as running or playing video games. I spend much of my spare times reading:
I've traveled the world~! Seriously- through the books I've read I have gotten transported back as a star-struck lover, Helena, in A Midsummer Night's Dream in England, gotten lost in the swamp down south with Elnora (A Girl of the Limberlost), served Jesus in the Bible, become a fighter of Grendel in Beowulf in Ireland, and become a victim of the witchtrials in Salem (The Crucible). I have discovered a treasure as Jane Eyre, traveled the western plains alongside the Ingalls family; in China I have survived the dictatorship of Chairman Mao (Red Scarf Girl), and become a missionary in India working alongside Amy Carmichael (A Chance to Die.) I have experienced being evil firsthand in Shakespeare's King Lear (as Goneril, via a Shakespeare group), and there are many more books that have let me travel through time and space- limitless.
I'm a daughter of Christ in love with life! I've got a large variety of interests and enjoyments: a few of the tops are playing piano, Shakespeare, acting, reading, playing harp, and just plain theater. I also L-O-V-E listening to classical music... especially the violin and harp! I homeschool along with my two sisters, and taught by Mom:) My favorite subjects are literature, history, and Bible. What I love most about homeschooling is the freedom to study whatever you desire, not just a fair amount in each subject (including ones you aren't even interested in:P). My passions include Shakespeare, piano-playing (what I call banging on my piano~!), harp-playing, writing, and sewing. I understand the impact that books and literature have on oneself, and, reading many amazing books myself, I love to write- whether a journal entry, or a post on this blog, whether silly or deeply serious, everything I do is a part of me! I love spending time with my family and friends, and can't wait to see what G-d has planned in my life.
